With over a decade of specialized insurance experience, Gary has guided the company into becoming a leading provider of student insurance products and services.
Prior to founding Cypress Risk Management, Gary spent several years working on the insurance carrier side of the business focusing exclusively on educational markets in underwriting, product development, sales and distribution. He is credited with being one of the original architects of the “NCAA Group Basic Accident Insurance Program”, launched in the Fall of 2006, and also for developing some of the company’s most precise underwriting techniques used today to evaluate group consortiums, aggregate deductible (partially self-funded), and fully self-insured plans.
As President/CEO of Cypress Risk Management, Gary is charged with executing the business strategy and providing strategic direction and oversight. His leadership and unique combination of experiences in underwriting, product development and sales, provides a powerful resource for his clients when negotiating terms with insurance carriers. Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sioux Falls and a Master of Business Administration from Creighton University.
